What might a future Royal Navy LHD class be named?
Short answerFearless and Intrepid would be likely choices because they directly revive the names of prominent British amphibious assault ships.
NotesFearless and Intrepid are strong candidates because they carry recognizable Royal Navy amphibious heritage. The discussion contrasts that lineage with other contemporary naming sets, including spirit names for submarines and established patterns for frigates. A new class can signal continuity with a previous operational role.
