The fictional Freya carries three gun calibres in its surface battery: battleship-calibre weapons, 6-inch guns, and 10.5 cm guns. The last group creates the dispute because weapons of that size would usually be described as anti-aircraft or secondary guns. In the Drake's Drum timeline, however, the 10.5 cm mounts are also intended to engage surface targets. Their fictional role determines how the battery is classified, despite the usual role of the historical German weapon.
