Francesco Morosini restores aggressive supply interdiction

Francesco Morosini raided Ottoman supply infrastructure and helped bottle up the enemy fleet, before Venice reassigned him to govern Crete.

Notes

Morosini's arrival brought a more energetic operational style: he raided the Ottoman depot at Aegina, struck Volos at night, and concentrated on watching the Dardanelles. A Venetian victory against a much larger force followed after he left part of the fleet on station. His operations sharply reduced the supplies reaching the Ottoman army and gave the allied contingents a leader they were willing to follow. Venice then created another command problem by moving an effective sea commander into the desperate governorship of Crete.
