How can the wrecks of Prince of Wales and Repulse be protected from illegal salvage?

Protection has proved inadequate; reports indicate that both wrecks and others in the region have already been badly damaged by illegal salvors.

Reports available in February 2025 indicated that Prince of Wales and Repulse had already suffered extensive damage from illegal salvage. Exeter and other regional wrecks faced the same problem. Their protection was judged weaker than the ordinary security of a house.
