Each Flower developed its own fittings and visual identity

Camouflage plates reveal how different navies and crews gave mass-produced Flower-class corvettes distinctive radar, weapon, and paint arrangements.

Notes

Examples from Yugoslav, Canadian, Greek, British, and American service show how far ships built to a common design could diverge. Radar, gun positions, anti-aircraft weapons, and camouflage changed with operator and refit history. One corvette carried an exaggerated painted bow wave suggesting a speed the hull could never reach, apparently through unofficial artistic initiative. Its gun positions and incomplete Type 271 radar upgrade also show how photographs can help date an equipment state. The US Navy renamed HMS Comfrey and HMS Milfoil as USS Action and USS Intensity, adding another national layer to the class's individual identities.
