Flint's drawbridges and fields of fire

Successive drawbridges force attackers through open ground and close combat while archers in the great tower keep firing into their route.

Notes

Flint's strongest tower overlooks the entrance that attackers must use. An assault first has to cross the moat and exposed ground under fire from archers in the keep. A second drawbridge leads into close combat with defenders in the inner area, still within reach of the keep's arrows. Reaching that point leaves another bridge and the tower itself to overcome. The sequence forces attackers to cross each barrier while the keep's defenders can continue firing.
