A protected launch-and-recovery axis

A practical combat ship needs an enemy-facing side and a protected side where gliders can launch, recover, repair, and return to the fight.

Notes

A symmetrical 360-degree weapons layout offers broad coverage, but it gives a carrier no natural protected side during combat. A practical arrangement orients one face toward the enemy and uses the opposite face for glider launch and recovery. Parasite craft can then add firepower, return when damaged, receive repairs, and sortie again without crossing the enemy-facing engagement zone. The arrangement treats carrier aviation as a repeatable combat system rather than as a one-way release of expendable craft.
