The fanciful design combines 500,000 tons displacement with twenty 21-inch guns and an estimated crew in the tens of thousands. Its claimed 2.5 to 3 million shaft horsepower for 28 knots raises an immediate transmission problem. With six shafts, the upper figure requires 500,000 horsepower through each shaft, compared with the Iowa example's 53,000 per shaft. Three centreline rudders and the very thin, Iowa-like bow also draw questions about the arrangement. The enormous belt armour prompts concern about spalling, although the spoken inner-belt measurement is inconsistent. The 21-inch battery promises a very slow rate of fire, while the fuel demand is treated as extravagant even before any credible propulsion arrangement is established.

The absurd logistics of a 500,000-ton Yamato
A fanciful Yamato derivative demands up to 500,000 horsepower per shaft and twenty 21-inch guns, exposing severe propulsion, armour, and operating problems.
