Finding the naval acts among thousands of scanned pages

The search for the 1915 and 1916 naval acts required manual browsing when the available indexes did not locate the needed provisions.

Notes

Alex Clarke's search for the 1915 and 1916 naval acts took him to a Library of Congress collection of 2,784 page scans. Congress.gov did not provide the route he needed, and the indexing did not work for his search. Finding the relevant provisions required clicking through individual images. This research experience illustrates the practical difference between having digitized pages and being able to locate a particular passage.
