M33 is easy to miss beside HMS Victory, Mary Rose, and HMS Warrior. Most of the monitor sits below the edge of her dry dock, so a visitor first sees the mast and then more of the ship as the dock comes into view. Her position below the dry-dock edge makes her less visible than Portsmouth's larger preserved ships. At the time of filming, M33 had the dockyard's lowest visitor footfall despite being the sole surviving member of her class. A short walk to the left of Victory leads to the ship, which remains hidden until the visitor reaches the dock.
