Chapter · 51:24-55:30

The final Rodney combines speed, heavy guns, and all-around secondary fire

The completed 32-knot design combines twelve 16.5-inch guns with a distributed six-inch battery while bringing weight and stability under control.

Notes

The six-inch secondary battery is moved until the ship's weight distribution improves. The final arrangement reaches about 32 knots and carries twelve 16.5-inch guns in three quadruple turrets. Its six-inch weapons cover forward and broadside arcs, giving the ship useful fire in several directions. The speed, gun layout, and firing arcs produce the coherent fast super-battleship that the earlier overweight concepts could not become.
