An escort mission tests fleet concentration against attacks from several directions

A failed Warhammer 40,000 convoy-protection attempt shows why concentrating the escort matters when threats converge, then leads to a heavier and more cohesive retry.

Notes

This fictional game scenario poses a recognizable escort problem. The protected ships are slow, enemy groups appear from several corners, and dividing the escort would expose the convoy. Their movement and the need to screen them force a balance between protection and offensive action. After the mission is lost, the retry keeps the fleet together. Numerous lighter escorts give way to a smaller but more powerful force, so concentration changes both the formation and the combat value assembled around the convoy.
