A successful turret pointed toward the Leanders

The limited changes needed before the Leander mounting show that Enterprise's twin 6-inch turret was a sound foundation.

Notes

The best evidence for the experimental turret's success is how little its basic mechanism changed before the Leander class. Armor, dimensions, and details evolved, but the Enterprise mounting had demonstrated a sound foundation. It provides a peephole into an unrealized 1920s cruiser lineage rather than a dead-end experiment. A mature design might have carried five twin 6-inch turrets, four twin 4-inch mounts, and four quadruple torpedo mountings, creating a formidable light cruiser for its era.
