Enterprise appeared in the 1941 motion picture Dive Bomber, starring Errol Flynn and Fred MacMurray. The filming placed the carrier in American popular culture shortly before the United States entered the war. The appearance belongs to the ship's cultural history rather than its operational record. Nothing in the passage treats the film as evidence for carrier doctrine or combat performance.
