Chapter ยท 20:59-24:10

Concentrating ships to capture an enemy squadron

A naval action uses a wolf-pack approach to overwhelm ships that are sailing in line and take them as prizes.

Notes

Several British ships converge on a smaller enemy squadron in what the stream calls a wolf-pack tactic. The enemy makes two mistakes: accepting the engagement and staying in line while surrounded. The British vessels overwhelm and board separate targets rather than simply exchanging broadsides. Capturing every ship turns tactical superiority into campaign strength by adding prizes to the fleet instead of destroying usable hulls.
