Chapter ยท 11:52-16:21

Using high ground and dragoons against citizen militia

An early land battle combines a defensible height with detached dragoons against the game's firelock-armed citizenry.

Notes

An enemy force expected to have artillery makes the high ground the safest position. The main formation holds the height while dragoons move around the flank to unsettle the approaching infantry. Once the game's citizen militia and commander become exposed, the mounted troops strike them rather than waiting for a frontal exchange. This is a scenario lesson in combining terrain with mobile forces, rather than a claim that historical American militia automatically behaved like these game units.
