Emerald and Enterprise suggest a route toward twin-turret cruisers

Enterprise's forward twin turret suggests how further Emerald-class development could have approached an early equivalent of the Leander class.

Notes

The two completed Emerald-class cruisers had different main-gun arrangements. Emerald carried single mountings, while Enterprise had a twin turret forward and five singles. A projected follow-on with more twin turrets could therefore have taken the design toward an early equivalent of the Leander class. This comparison concerns an unrealized continuation of the class.
