As the Eastern Fleet matured, it conducted offensive operations and weathered air attacks with a more complete force than the isolated cruisers had possessed. British ships carried Pom-Poms and Bofors together during these operations. This provides a comparison between the two weapons in service. The United States Navy supplied extensive experience of Bofors but little comparable use of the Pom-Pom.
