Supply vessels combine station-keeping, salvage, and deck space

Dynamic positioning, towing strength, and open working decks make platform supply vessels useful for salvage and rapid modular fits.

Notes

Platform supply vessels are designed to loiter near offshore installations, often with excellent dynamic-positioning systems and some towing ability. Those characteristics also suit naval salvage, where damaged or immobilized warships must be pulled clear of danger. Navies demand salvage tugs quickly once combat begins because mission-damaged ships still need recovery. The large open afterdeck gives a supply vessel room for containerised or modular weapons and support equipment. A rapid conversion depends on stockpiling those modules before the crisis.
