Dreadnought did not erase Britain's numerical lead

Britain retained large advantages in pre-dreadnoughts, dreadnought numbers, and aggregate firepower after HMS Dreadnought entered service.

Notes

HMS Dreadnought did not wipe out Britain's existing numerical advantage. The Royal Navy still possessed a large pre-dreadnought fleet, then built a large lead in dreadnoughts as well. Its aggregate firepower strengthened that advantage. The technological change therefore did not leave Britain starting level with Germany.
