Dreadnought and Vanguard as the first and last of an era

Preserving Dreadnought might have strengthened the case for saving Vanguard and displaying the endpoints of Britain's dreadnought era together.

Notes

Museum collections can make later preservation decisions easier by creating a visible historical sequence. If HMS Dreadnought had survived, HMS Vanguard could have been presented as the last British dreadnought beside the ship that began the era. Adding HMS Warrior would extend that display backward into the ironclad age. Visitors could then compare major stages in British capital-ship development through the ships themselves.
