Why did Canada and New Zealand not order Battle-class destroyers?
Short answerThey did not need them and were already spending on ships that better fitted their own requirements.
NotesThe answer frames procurement as a question of need rather than prestige. Canada and New Zealand were already investing in ships suited to their own force structures, so an additional large destroyer class offered limited value. Ordering the Battle class would also commit crews and money that could support those existing priorities. This is a compact example of why allied navies do not automatically buy every successful British design.
