A Dogger Bank disaster could turn the Admirals into fast battleships

Heavy battlecruiser losses could favor protection and twelve 15-inch guns over Hood's higher speed.

Notes

A disaster at Dogger Bank, followed by further losses at Jutland, could weaken the case for building more battlecruisers. The Admiral designs had included a fast-battleship option, although Fisher's influence favored the battlecruiser. Ships caught by enemy battleships would need enough protection to survive while escaping. One extrapolated design has four triple 15-inch turrets, about 28-29 knots, and protection developed from the R class. This is a possible response to altered wartime experience.
