What extra preparation time could change before a 1940 campaign

A delayed war can change equipment availability through extra production time, without instantly replacing entire armies' weapons.

Notes

A delay after the hypothetical German succession gives Britain and France additional months to prepare. The British six-pounder provides an example of the gap between a weapon being ready and factories producing it at scale. More time could allow the beginning of equipment changes even though a complete replacement program would remain unrealistic. The French Army could also benefit from extra preparation. Those gains improve its position within the scenario without demonstrating that the same campaign would necessarily end differently.
