Dante Alighieri's construction timeline and Russian parallels

The ship's 1909-1913 construction dates explain why an influential Italian layout arrived too late to define the type.

Notes

Dante Alighieri was laid down in 1909, launched in 1910, and completed in 1913. That schedule left HMS Dreadnought firmly established as the international reference point before the Italian ship entered service. Dante Alighieri is presented as a handsome and important model for later Italian work. Russian dreadnoughts and battlecruisers shared the broad design layout because of similar requirements rather than simple copying.
