Nathaniel Dance shared the credit for Pulo Aura

The rewards after Pulo Aura reached Dance, the other captains, and ordinary seamen, while Dance publicly credited the people under his command.

Notes

Dance received £5,000 from the Bombay Insurance Company and a pension of £500 a year. His other rewards included silver plate valued at 200 guineas, a ceremonial sword worth £100. Royal George's captain received £1,000, while the other captains received £500 each, with swords and plate also awarded. Payments extended to the crews, with an ordinary seaman receiving £6. In his reply to the insurers, Dance credited the firmness of the captains and sailors who had supported him and treated seniority as the reason he had held command. He also received a knighthood and retired after returning home. The rewards allowed him to enjoy a long retirement before his death in 1827.
