D10 combined a British hull with German weapons

D10's three torpedoes without reloads, modest hull, and quoted 27.2-knot speed show the limits of an early fleet torpedo boat.

Notes

D10 came from Thornycroft's British 30-knotter design but carried a German armament. Its battery comprised three 50 mm guns and three 450 mm torpedo tubes. Each tube had one torpedo, with no reloads carried. A crew of 47-52 served a boat of about 370 tons fully loaded, with a quoted top speed of 27.2 knots. That made D10 a capable vessel for its time, while leaving little room for the demands of prolonged fleet service.
