Cuniberti's all-big-gun battleship concept is placed within a wider line of thought that included Percy Scott, William Sims, and others. Their ideas addressed crew preparation as well as firing power. A ship with a gun for every occasion forces its crew to train across a complicated battery and decide which weapon fits each threat. Standardizing the main armament could simplify preparation for war while concentrating offensive firepower.
