Chapter ยท 3:16:26-3:17:38

How might Stalingrad have changed the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Putting cargo aboard a completed Stalingrad battlecruiser would have made interception during the Cuban Missile Crisis a more direct and difficult confrontation.

Notes

A completed Stalingrad battlecruiser is placed in a counterfactual version of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The proposal puts containers aboard the warship instead of a merchant vessel. Intercepting that ship would create a more direct confrontation with the Soviet Navy and raise the stakes for the West. The example gives the canceled battlecruiser a possible crisis role through its visible strength and status.
