The German reconstruction lets a wing turret fire across the opposite side of the deck. In the game, the deck remains intact. In reality, blast pressure could buckle or otherwise damage exposed deck structure and fittings. The game's firing arc exceeds what the historical structure could safely tolerate.

Why cross-deck firing was costly
The simulation permits a German wing turret to fire across the deck without showing the blast damage that constrained the real arrangement.
