Tanks remain useful in Ukraine, where drones add reconnaissance and fire-correction roles instead of making every crewed vehicle obsolete. Armour and mobility still impose limits because more protection can reduce battlefield movement or air transportability. A future package could pair crewed vehicles carrying people, air defence, and command systems with uncrewed vehicles that take the highest-risk direct-engagement positions. Shared active protection would improve survival but add cost and complexity across the group. The model uses drones as force multipliers and risk absorbers within a combined armoured team.
