Cornish mining expertise around the Atlantic world

Cornish hard-rock mining expertise travelled beyond Britain with migrant communities. Cornish migration reached Appalachian districts and places such as Chile and Argentina, where specialist skills travelled with communities. Northern English and Yorkshire miners are associated with soft-rock work, while Cornish tin miners in Tasmania and a Welsh community in Argentina also enter the comparison. Occupational skill and local identity travelled together across an international mining world.
