Wellesley's artillery-heavy reserve defeats the relief force

Wellesley's artillery-heavy reserve decisively defeated the Danish force sent to relieve Copenhagen.

Notes

On 26 August, General Wellesley was dispatched with the reserve and two light brigades of British artillery. His force is described overall as an artillery-heavy reinforced brigade. Its mission was to disperse the Danish force trying to relieve Copenhagen, and Wellesley won the resulting action decisively. The capital's substantial fixed defences were not matched by an external relief force capable of breaking the British siege.
