Chapter · 2:00:21-2:05:14

Concentrating forces before a northern Japan campaign

Battleships, battlecruisers, and destroyers are drawn from dispersed stations before an attack on northern Japan becomes practical.

Notes

Battleships, battlecruisers, and destroyers move from several regions toward the prospective Japanese campaign. Some stations contain fewer ships than expected, so the plan has to be rebuilt from the forces actually available. Other powers move thousands of tons while Britain shifts millions, aiming to put enough shipping in the area to make an attack on northern Japan feasible. A distant objective becomes credible only after dispersed forces form a sustainable local concentration.
