Compact mounting and worldwide service

Dimensions, weight, rapid training, and a small below-deck footprint explain why navies could fit the gun to many different hulls.

Notes

The original Compact paired an 85-round-per-minute rate with rapid all-round training and comparatively modest space demands. Depending on the variant, the mount weighed roughly seven to twelve tons and could traverse through 360 degrees at a quoted 60 degrees per second. That combination offered meaningful firepower without requiring a large ship or a dominant deck position. Its continued service, broad exports, and Iran's reverse-engineered Fajr-27 show how widely the design spread.
