Bombing, blockade, and armies depend on one another

Bombers, fleets, and armies contribute different capabilities, while expeditionary troops depend on ships able to deliver their heavy equipment.

Notes

Heavy bombing can damage an enemy's supply system, but it cannot reliably win a war by itself. Blockade also has limits when an enemy controls a large continental resource base, as Germany did across much of Europe. Britain's fleet sustained the country, maintained the blockade, and made it possible to land an army. Occupying an enemy airfield or shipyard with ground forces provides a direct way to stop its operations, provided those troops can be delivered and supported. Amphibious ships must therefore retain the ability to land the heavy equipment their troops need. Removing that capacity weakens the purpose of the other deployment capabilities around it.
