Why new ships point beyond a simple 2027 deadline

LHDs, LPDs, and carriers increase China's options, but the more consequential risk window depends on crews and joint doctrine maturing with the hardware.

Notes

New Chinese Type 075 and Type 076 amphibious ships, LPDs, and carriers enlarge the available fleet, but delivery does not establish operational maturity. In this assessment, 2027 begins a possible period of danger while the 2030s are more concerning, after additional hulls enter service and crews accumulate experience. Building ships, operating them, and integrating them into a joint amphibious campaign each require sustained work. Exercises are already contributing to that process, but familiarity and combined operation take time for any navy.
