Robert K. Massie's Castles of Steel is the wartime companion to Dreadnought. Its focus shifts from the origins of the Anglo-German naval race to Britain and Germany's struggle at sea during the First World War. Churchill appears throughout the book. Its illustrations include a ship sinking at Scapa Flow and a North Sea view from Admiral Jellicoe's flagship Iron Duke. The introduction leads into Massie's detailed account of the Battle of the Falkland Islands.
