Scale habitability and services to deployment length

Months away from home demand resilient medical, recreation, sanitation, training, and diplomatic facilities that a locally operated carrier may not need.

Notes

Habitability requirements follow the carrier's expected deployment pattern. A ship that remains near home for short periods can accept fewer recreation and medical facilities than one intended to operate overseas for weeks or months. Long deployments require gyms, treatment spaces, robust kitchens, electrical generation, plumbing, and redundancy when showers or other services fail. Diplomatic visits and outreach events also need spaces that can be secured away from sensitive parts of the ship. Gunnery practice, marines, and rescue teams add further accommodation and training demands. These so-called hotel services directly affect endurance, crew effectiveness, security, and the hull volume required.
