Andrea Loredan's carrack and another large Venetian sailing ship boarded Burak Reis's Ottoman flagship. The flagship belonged to Burak Reis, a different officer from Kemal Reis. Unable to disengage, its defenders set it alight to prevent the Venetians from taking it. The three locked vessels burned and eventually exploded. Venetian morale was already low, and the destruction deepened the collapse.
