Fire and stone robbing erase the castle

Fire during Henry VIII's reign and local reuse of the ruins explain why Builth survives mainly as earthworks rather than visible masonry.

Notes

Builth burned during Henry VIII's reign. Local people then quarried the ruins for building stone, moving its masonry into nearby properties. No castle stonework remained visible by the time of the video, so photographs, terrain, and earthworks have to explain the site. The surviving landscape records both the medieval castle and its later dismantling.
