Sa'ar 6 missile counts: fitted equipment and proposed upgrades

A disputed Sa'ar 6 weapons count becomes a practical example of distinguishing photographed installations from planned upgrades.

Notes

The provisional weapons count is sixteen Barak launch cells and eight Gabriel missiles in two quadruple launchers. It rests on photographs available during the exchange, including three recent 2026 images said to show different members of the class. Proposals for thirty-two Barak cells and sixteen Gabriels are acknowledged, but their installation is not accepted on that evidence alone. The working rule is to count a system as fitted only after seeing it aboard the relevant ship, directly or in photographs. Additional deck-mounted Gabriel launchers and below-deck vertical launch cells pose different installation problems. Extra Barak cells would require space beneath one of the candidate deck positions, and moving farther forward is considered impractical. These counts remain a photographic interpretation open to correction when further equipment is visible.
