The lost museum potential of India's British-built carriers

Preserving Vikrant and Viraat together could have given India a museum collection of former British carriers.

Notes

Vikrant, the former Hercules, was a Majestic-class carrier; Viraat was the former Hermes. Preserving both former British-built carriers together could have given India a substantial naval museum collection. Their different histories would have offered an unusual concentration of carrier heritage. The proposal anticipates visitors travelling internationally to see such a collection.
