Does Dan have a favourite Second World War hospital ship?
Short answerDan has no particular favourite, but describes Italian hospital ships rescuing survivors and transporting wounded after Mediterranean disasters.
NotesDan has not studied hospital ships extensively enough to choose a favourite. His example concerns their work alongside the German and Italian convoy routes to North Africa. Hospital ships put out after disasters to rescue survivors and carry wounded people. Matapan and the Tarigo convoy are mentioned among the examples. These voyages operated separately from supply convoys attacked by the Tenth Submarine Flotilla.
