A drone falling or moving unexpectedly can still injure people aboard a carrier. Maintainers may be working on it or in its path, with other aircraft nearby. Limited deck space prevents the separation possible on land. Removing the onboard pilot therefore does not eliminate injury or damage. Increasingly complex drones are not always cheaper or safer.
