Science-fiction universes that shaped the panel

Which science-fiction universe is each panelist's favorite?

Star Trek is the most common answer because it introduced several panelists to science fiction, although their preferences also move among Star Wars, Warhammer 40,000, cyberpunk, and niche settings.

Several participants choose Star Trek because it introduced them to science fiction and remains the setting they know best. Other preferences shift with recent reading or viewing, especially between Star Wars and Warhammer 40,000. Marvel, Gundam, Shadowrun, Peacekeepers of Sol, and an independent animation setting also receive mentions. The classifications themselves prompt disagreement: one participant excludes Star Wars as science fantasy, and others dispute whether Marvel belongs in the same category. Cyberpunk is treated as a science-fiction subgenre with a strong identity of its own.
