HMS Bruiser also served at Salerno, became a fighter-direction ship, and carried British troops to Athens. Sold into merchant service after the war, she was converted into a cargo liner and changed names several times. She was broken up in Argentina in 1968. Her sequence of naval and commercial roles shows how much working life remained in the large Mark I hull after its original landing mission ended.
