Mikasa is the last surviving British-built battleship from the pre-dreadnought and dreadnought eras. Other surviving examples of British naval construction also lie far from Britain. A British-built interwar submarine is preserved in Tallinn, and a destroyer from the 1910s survives as a shrine in Thailand. Canada preserves a Tribal-class destroyer in Hamilton and a Flower-class corvette in Halifax. These overseas survivors retain examples of warship types that Britain itself did not keep.

Why British-built warships survive far from Britain
Mikasa and other preserved British-built warships in Estonia, Thailand, and Canada show how much British naval heritage survives overseas.
