David Jones and Peter Noonan's study is the Brisbane counterpart to Fremantle's submarine history. The book explains the wartime buildup of the base between 1942 and 1945. Its lists identify American submarines that used or visited Brisbane and the shipping attributed to their patrols. Read alongside the Fremantle volume, it shows how two Australian ports supported different parts of the wider Allied submarine campaign.
