Boxer becomes an information and radar-training ship

Boxer's later career moved from fighter control to action-information and radar training, and she once carried Royal Artillery gunner Spike Milligan from North Africa to Italy.

Notes

HMS Boxer was first considered for ground-controlled interception, then became an action-information-organization tender and a radar-training ship in 1946. She joined the 1953 Coronation Fleet Review, remained in reserve during the Suez crisis, and was scrapped in 1958. During the war she carried Spike Milligan, then serving with the 56th Regiment, Royal Artillery, from North Africa to Italy. He later covered that period in Mussolini: His Part in My Downfall.
